Shopping is one of the major attracton of the China Town area. There is always somethiang that can satisfy the needs of shoppers; thus, attracting shoppers from all directions.
Talat Kao (Old Marketplace) : This old market has been with China Town for more than a hundred years. This is the place to find all kinds of specialties, ranging from fresh to preserved food. Famous restaurants and hotels in Bangkok usually come here to shop for fresh food and ingredients. Opposite the old market is the new market, or what is known in Thai as " Talat Mai" or " Talat Krom Phu-tared". The goods and products that are sold in the new market ane similar to those sold in the old market.
Wanit 1: Another name for this area of trade is “Sampheng”. This area is the combination of both retailers and wholesalers of textile shops. The area is also well known for its sewing equipment, gifts, souvenirs, stationery, children and teenager products. This is a very busy road and is always crowed with shoppers and sellers.
