* The Thai name is Mangkon Kamalatawa. It was built in 1871 and comprises a series of Chinese Buddhist Temples and Taoist deities in the total complex. The style is Southern Chinese.
* The complex is a monastery, school for 300 monks and place of worship, particularly of the Supreme Being Statues.

* Wat Mangkon Kamalawat is central to festivities in the Chinese New Year and the vegetarian festival. The entrance is through a narrow passage way off Charoen Krung Road. Inside photography is not permitted and often the court yard is inappropriately used as a car park. However inside it has much character and is quite unlike a Thai temple experience.
